Men and women alike have the influence and power to transform a generation, and make for excellent role models. Female role models in particular are so varied and challenge the perceptions of femininity and feminism. At Bane and Antidote, we’ve put together a list of some of the best female role models who inspire, challenge, and influence the way our modern day world works.
Alexa Von Tobel

In 2009 alone, her site that focuses on helping young women establish good financial habits, gained over 100,000 members. Her company, so far, has raised over $5.5million in funding. Alexa really is one of the brainy girls!
Lauren Bush is a 26 year old entrepreneur who runs non-profit organization, FEED. While Emma Watson is of course already a tremendously talented actress, and is best known for her role as Hermione in Harry Potter, she continued her education at Brown University when she wasn’t on set. Graduating with a degree in English Literature in 2015, Emma is also an activist who supports women all over the world as well as a number of charities and organizations. Regardless of her very successful acting career, in Emma’s world, knowledge is power. Being part of the #HeForShe movement Emma certainly didn’t feel the need for a faustian pact.
There is a high certainty these brainy girls didn’t get where they are by sheer luck. Long days and dedication will have played a huge part. So give thanks for these discerning night owls who have paved the way for rest of the ladies who want to make a mark on the world.
